Ty’s story

Life has improved for Ty after moving into his own flat. Developing skills to become more independent has helped him at home and in his life.

“I was sharing with other people, and just wanted to live on my own,” said Ty. “I found out about this flat and came to have a look. I really liked the flat! It is closer to Wakefield so I can easily get around on the bus.

After moving in, Michelle from Encircle Housing, came round to give me a welcome bag which was nice.

One of my mates that I went to college with has the flat next door. We get on really well and look out for each other. I’ve got to know other people too; it’s nice to have your own space and share the activity room with others as well.

I’m enjoying having the freedom to do what I want. I’ve learnt the bus routes to different places so I can catch the bus easily to other areas.”
