In May, we travelled to Birmingham, Redcar and Cleveland, and Wakefield to meet with tenants and their care teams for our first tenant focus groups.
We gathered valuable feedback on their experiences at home, explored ways we can provide additional support, and discussed how they would like to be more involved with us moving forward.
Tenants living in their home
“We have BBQs in the garden during the summer. Last year we played games. Everyone was out together; it was fun. I’ve lived here the longest and I like my room, and everything about living here.” said Annette.
“I’ve lived here for five years and want to be here for the next 20 years. I’m happy with everything here,” said Kay.
“I love living here, I’m very happy and the staff are good,” said Carl.
Ways Encircle Housing can help
“I think people would like to their homes painted. We have just had ours done and it looks really nice and more homely,” said an Encircle Housing tenant.
“More communication around repair work. It has improved and the work is being done much quicker, and we are communicating with them more too. If contractors come out to do a repair and they need another visit to finish the work we were not always told when this will be, and recently this has also improved,” said a care provider.
Being part of the tenant focus groups
“Yes, I’d like to come to the tenant groups and share my ideas,” said Annette.
“Working on the tenant newsletter would be good. We can choose what goes in it and I can help you write it too. It would be good to have our say about things and choose what we talk about,” said an Encircle Housing tenant.
