Move and Talk event

Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 ran from May 13-19, focusing on the theme “Movement: Moving More for Our Mental Health.”

Incorporating movement into our daily routines can greatly benefit mental health – whether it’s taking a walk around the neighbourhood, practicing yoga, going to the gym, dancing to favourite music in the living room, or doing chair exercises while watching TV, every bit helps!

To celebrate the week, we organised “Move and Talk” events with some of our tenants, either at home or in their local communities. Two of our Regional Housing Managers, Lyndsay and Stefanie, joined tenants for a chat as they enjoyed a variety of activities of their choosing.

Zoe Ross from Belfast

Lyndsay said, “Zoe chose the time we spent together to tell me about how she loves dancing and attends a local dance class every Tuesday. At the class she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and has lots of friends.”

Stephen from Essex

Stefanie told us, “Stephen moved into his home a few months ago, and is passionate about music and dancing. Stephen attends Zumba classes every Wednesday and cookery classes every Friday. Stephen has always lived in the area and was very happy to live within a familiar area.”
